Trichorhina tomentosa, or dwarf white isopods, are a popular species of tiny but effective isopods used as cleanup crews in terrariums. "Dwarf" species are generally the only isopods recommended to be used with mantises/invertebrates, if using isopods at all – though they are not particularly necessary, as just springtails should be enough for a mantis.

Dwarf whites are parthenogenic, meaning all individuals are females that reproduce asexually; therefor, they can grow a population quite quickly!
